Ten months ago, four organisations from Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia started with one shared goal: to bring more girls and young women onto the tennis court and keep them there.

Since January, ŠK Virtus, Institute Impact, Player Zone Tennis Academy and TK Lošinj-Jadranka have met twice in person, first in Ljubljana in March and then in Belgrade in September. In between, the work kept moving across three countries.

The first phase is now complete. All four deliverables planned for the first nine months of the project have been submitted: the partners' cooperation framework, our communication materials, desk research with a collection of best practices from across Europe, and a midterm progress report.

That research brought together what already works in grassroots sport, and it now feeds directly into the next phase.

From research to the court. In the coming months, the partners will develop a gender-sensitive training methodology for grassroots coaches and volunteers. It will be followed by an open-access e-learning toolkit, available on this website from January 2027. And, most importantly, there will be tennis courses for girls and young women.

You can follow the first steps on our Instagram, where How to Play, a short video series for beginners, starts this month.

Thank you to everyone who has followed us so far. Ten months in, we are only getting started.
